Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety and the Federal Ministry of Health Published a Common Catalogue of Services

Abstract

Water suppliers provide – beyond their core mandate – a range of indispensable precautionary services for environmental and health protection. It is a special environmental and health concern to keep these services within the portfolio of the water suppliers. Therefore, the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) and the Ministry of Health (BMG) in cooperation with the water supply associations BDEW (German Association of Energy and Water Industries), DVGW (German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water) and VKU (German Association of Local Utilities) have developed a catalogue of precautionary services which water suppliers provide for water and health protection. This catalogue was published in the German Federal Gazette on 28th August, 2014. The following essay illustrates contents and objectives of the catalogue and contains the catalogue itself.
