What do Climate Projections tell us about Future Challenges of German Water Supplies?

Abstract

Climate impacts will affect the water cycle in many ways. This leads to new challenges for German water suppliers, whereas the impacts will vary depending on the sitespecific conditions. Since all statements on future climate impacts are based on climate projections, the total bandwidth of results must be incorporated in the planning of adaptation options. Based on this knowledge, sitespecific strategies can be developed, in order to respond appropriately to future climate impacts, in addition to other existing challenges.
