Abstract

The evaluation of experiments of compression and decompression on air vessels showed a significant temperature layer of compressed air within the vessel. Furthermore, the data analysis revealed that an accurate description of the thermodynamic change of state can only prove successful, if the proportion of water steam within the compressed air cushion and the chan-ges of enthalpy of air and water steam are taken into account when setting up the relevant equation of state. Based on these considerations only, the heat balance for the estimation of the heat transfer coefficient can be drawn up correctly. The present article outlines the interrelations based on real pressure vessels and the further evaluations.
