Water supply safety – Dimensioning of an intermediate pumping station considering emergency and crisis situations

Abstract

To ensure water supply, especially in emergency and crisis situations, it is useful to expand the interconnection capabilities of water supply systems. The dimensioning of technical systems is subject to different system conditions compared to normal operation. Thus, the required pumping rates may differ significantly. The article describes the dimensioning of an intermediate pumping station taking into account the expansion of interconnection options.
