Abstract

The drinking water supply is dependent on the power supply, as electrical energy is required to operate the systems and equipment. If the relevant water supply systems cannot be supplied with emergency power systems in the event of an interruption to the electrical power supply, the piped supply of drinking water ends. Fuel is required to operate the emergency power systems and must be kept in sufficient quantities. The supply can be secured by a company filling station. Various framework conditions and requirements must be identified and taken into account for the construction of the systems. What these are and how they are implemented is explained in the following article on the model project "Construction of a company filling station for diesel storage". The work steps described are summarized in a checklist. Formulas and an Excel tool for determining diesel requirements are also provided.
