Abstract

High levels of automation mean that control room operators can control very large, complex process areas. Intelligent control rooms offer support with optimized interaction and visualization techniques. They automatically identify where people are in a space, what roles they have and where they are looking and gesturing, so that interaction can be optimized. Optimized visualization techniques make it possible to monitor large numbers of normalized process values with a single view and to use the human capabilities for pattern recognition.
