Abstract

Managing PLC code is a major cost factor in engineering projects. PLC code projects can be very large and complex, with hundreds of thousands of inter-dependencies. Accordingly, PLC code should be designed to support activities like commissioning, maintenance, and expandability. However, the way PLC code is implemented often contradicts these targets. Methods are presented
that allow for the analysis of the structure of PLC code.
