Abstract

Increased complexity of highly developed products leads to reduced and only partial comprehension. Thus, disappointments raise e.g. quality losses, appointment lapses and deficient calculation of costs. In order to control product complexity from its development until its disposal, a method and a notation are needed where comprehensive modeling is feasible and discipline specific constraints do not diminish the description. The data structure of Semantic Web primarily achieves these requirements. To identify concrete requirements for practical usability and consistent product description modeling comprehensively in all of its technical domains, Semantic Web is analyzed.
