Abstract

Fault diagnosis is applied to plants with programmable logic controllers (PLC) in order to detect and isolate faulty components. A model based fault diagnosis approach is presented for large industrial systems. The model is obtained automatically while no expert knowledge is required besides the observed system behaviour. The presented fault diagnosis approach is applied to an industrial manufacturing system with 390 controller inputs and outputs.
