Optimising final vehicle checks using Smartglasses

Abstract

A final check is carried out after assembly in the automotive industry in order to guarantee functionality and quality. Employees working in this area need to be mobile, and nowadays carry with them handheld devices or paper instructions and documentation. But these then regularly have to be put down in order to carry out certain tasks. By using “Google Glass” for two prototypical tasks, personnel have their hands free nearly all the time to carry out their work.
