Abstract

A method for performance assessment of a control loop at the presence of combined deterministic-stochastic disturbances is presented. The deterministic component of a process disturbance is described with the help of the appropriate model, e.g. transfer function, in order to set up the required H2-optimal benchmark. The stochastic disturbance component is modelled separately and the stochastic part of the system behavior is evaluated additionally with the help of the conventional minimum variance control benchmark. A performance of a control system is assessed hereby based on the L2-norm of the system output or the control error.
