Abstract

OPC UA is the standard for Industry 4.0 and as well as standardized communications it also offers  information modelling capabilities. These make it possible to access the information during run time. Standardized, domain-specific information models based on OPC UA increase the interoperability by having the same modelling for similar applications. This article introduces the concepts for information modelling and describes tool support to create OPC UA based information models, and applications based on these models.
