Abstract

This article describes the modelling and implementation of an exemplary task planning problem for a collaborative assembly task in a multi-robot cell using a cognitive  software framework. The aim is to demonstrate the  potential of using AI-based methods and tools to achieve a target-oriented and flexible system sequence in a  production-relevant problem space, largely  without programming application-specific system programs. This could be an important contribution to resolving the  dilemma of mixing implicitly available process knowledge and explicit coding of solution paths in conventional  automation systems.
