New Asset Management Concepts for Control Valves

Abstract

Final controlling devices like control valves are complex field devices in process plants. Apart form their main task, controlling of material flow, they are more and more involved in diagnosis and Asset Management tasks. All components have to be optimaly tuned and selected to fullfill the requirements of the application. In this way, they build an important block of the superior Plant Asset Management (PAM). In the paper, improvements are demonstrated using the example of control valves.
