Abstract

Evaluating energy-related issues of an automated system requires a clear semantic basis. For this purpose an energy ontology has been developed on the basis of important terms and their relationships. By combining this with a formalized model of the production system an energy-specific process model has been established. In combination with a simulation model the energy consumption of an experimental platform was investigated. By means of two parameters it is possible to monitor and evaluate the energy demands of the system.
