Package Unit Integration in Process Industry –

Abstract

The integration of package units in a SCADA or DCS involves considerable manual efforts. Various aspects of automation such as faceplates, states of sequences or interlocks are to be reproduced for the visualization and management of the package unit manually in the master control system. With a clever use of existing technologies the integration effort can not only significantly be reduced, the existing technologies also could extended to a modular plug-and-produce methodology. An essential precondition for this is a uniform formal quantitative description of various aspects of the package unit and tool chains based on the formal descriptions.
