Knowledge-based safety

Abstract

Analyses of operational safety and IT security are an integral part of plant protection. As plants become more complex, manual analysis is becoming increasingly demanding. We present an approach towards automating the individual steps involved with the support of a knowledge-based system. This can simplify the creation and maintenance of a security concept. A potential combination of safety analysis and IT security analysis is considered.
