Abstract

Assembly automation places specific demands on the applied programming methods due to the increasing numbers of product variants and automation components. This hinders the application of assembly automation in small and medium sized enterprises. A commissioning concept is described which enables assembly staff to define process sequences themselves via demonstrations and synchronous digitalization. A system of sensors covers various aspects of the assembly processes and evaluates the merged sensor data stream.
