Abstract

Information models are indispensable for the digitalization. Particularly because of shorter product life cycles adaptions to the corresponding information models are necessary. Therefore, the models must be generic enough to cope with these changes. Like software an information model also has a life cycle. This contribution shows the different phases of this life cycle and how those phases have to be assisted to cope with arising changes and resulting complexity. Therefore, the use cases of a co-simulation environment and the modularization will be presented and existing technologies for the implementation as for example OPC UA, AutomationML and the Semantic Web will be compared.
