Abstract

The BASF Reliability Center currently analyzes and monitors the status of some 300 critical pumps, vacuum pumps and compressors, and this number is expected to increase significantly in the coming years. However, at the same time there are growing demands for the integration of machine data in asset management applications. A solution is provided by an administration shell for pumps and vacuum pumps specified by VDMA’s associations for Pumps + Systems and Compressor Technology. The shell integrates pumps and vacuum pumps in the Industry 4.0 information world and describes their functions and information regardless of manufacturer, pump type, and application. At the NAMUR Meeting 2019, application scenarios of the administration shell were demonstrated by a configuration-free connection of different types of pumps and vacuum pumps in cloud-based monitoring applications.
