Real-time context management - a contribution to NOA

Abstract

Mathematical optimisation strategies, AI methods, and rigorous or data-based model development are increasingly used in digitisation and Industry 4.0 projects to increase production efficiency. This requires that production data, which in industrial companies is typically available in a multitude of IT systems, can be brought into a common context. Experience shows that essential requirements of operators have not yet been met satisfactorily. This article describes the requirements and classifications in methodological approaches of context management and fields of application forwhich solutions are currently lacking
that enable the appropriate mapping and use of a context reference in real time.
