Abstract

In a sector-coupled energy and raw material system based on renewable sources of energy, there is a need to store fluctuating electrical energy. Storage in the form of valuable chemical products requires flexible, modular process and plant concepts. In the research project ProRegional, an integrated modular demonstration plant for the production of synthetic crude oil and wax
from biogas and renewables was investigated, with automation already preconceived with the Module Type Package (MTP) and examined on the basis of the virtual plant.
