Abstract

Potenziale und Herausforderungen / Opportunities and Challenges

Batch processes, start-up, shut-down as well as load and product changes of continuous processes are challenging to automate and optimize, because of their inherent, non-linear dynamics, the often limited process understanding and the control systems complexity. This contribution of Namur AK 2.2 "Prozessführung" describes these challenges and presents current solution approaches from industrial practice.
