Abstract

Machinery systems represent highly complex systems. Increasing competition and mass customization require the efficient use of available ressources for economic efficiency. Simulation based approaches allow the evaluation of the system behavior in terms of quality criteria and optimization potential during the operation phase. A method is presented to classify simulations applied in parallel to the operating production plant, which enables the systematic analysis of the production plant and the selection of a compatible simulation application.
