Abstract

Simulation plays an essential role in modular mechanical and plant engineering. Like the real modules, the necessary models are provided by the manufacturers or company divisions. In particular with regards to virtual commissioning, but also in operation-parallel simulation, numerous module models from various sources must be gathered, coupled, and kept up-to-date. This paper presents a concept for reducing the associated manual activities based on an agent-based assistance system. The aim is to generate, configure and operate simulation models with the least possible effort. In this paper, the focus is on supporting the commissioning phase.
