Abstract

In view of the increasing simulation effort of production systems, co-simulation technology is indispensable for parallelizing and mastering the computational  equirements of complex simulation models. However, to
make this technology usable, a partitioning strategy for the entire simulation model is required. This paper presents a new partitioning strategy for production systems in virtual commissioning. Coupling errors are to be reduced by means of multi-objective optimization using multi-rate methods and by minimizing the number of coupling points.
