Model-based engineering with standard actor profiles

Abstract

Process control systems (PCS) now make it possible to offer industry and customer specific solutions. There are many ways to integrate motor control into the PCS, including device parameterization, the definition of cyclic process image, and watchdog timing. This article presents an approach to simplifying device integration by motor control and device diagnosis from the PCS-application point of view. The viability of this approach was demonstrated for a prototype implementation.
