Abstract

The Blockchain is a disruptive technology which excites the IT industry. What is the real meaning behind this catchword? The concept of a decentralized, public database system implies not only the cryptocurrency “Bitcoin”. A cross-sectoral implementation of the blockchain technology will be considered. How can the transfer to production automation be attained? Are there any application scenarios or potentials in comparison to classical database systems and administration tools?
