Abstract

Englische Kurzfassung: Model-based predictive control systems benefit from their real-time optimization for modern wind turbines in order to consider multiple, divergent control objectives, such as power maximization and load mitigation, subject to given operating limits. This article discusses the fundamental challenges of wind turbine control as well as the concepts of conventional and model-based predictive controllers. Potentials for the systematic implementation and application of model-based methods for the control practice of wind turbines finish this overview.
