Abstract

Evaluating the security of a system requires an adequate description. This work introduces a methodology for security evaluation. By starting with a simple model and iteratively refining it the resulting model aims to represent a sufficiently complete
view of the system under evaluation, while keeping the individual steps manageable. After each  modelling step (refining the model) an analysis can be carried out using the system representation. For modelling and analysis, parts of the system or their
properties can be missing or only vaguely  represented.
