Abstract

The growing demands on the automation of production systems and processes require increased virtual validation to ensure efficient production. An established method for this is virtual commissioning (VIBN). The resulting increase in the complexity of simulation models of production systems leads to increased computing effort and longer simulation cycle times. Splitting a simulation model into individual partitions is a time-consuming process that is also highly prone to errors. More efficient and intelligent methods for partitioning simulation calculations are therefore essential in order to meet the requirements of
real-time simulations in VIBN and the increased  computational effort. This article presents a concept for this.
