Virtual Commissioning in the Process Industry

Abstract

Simulation is a strategic lever that can be used to achieve a high quality standard despite the challenges of tighter project schedules, limited resources and more complex systems and functionalities. Simulation, in particular virtual commissioning, is an enabler in the vision of integrated engineering, as it allows for a more efficient engineering workflow. This article describes how implementing virtual commissioning in a batch plant can lead to more effective engineering and an earlier start-up.
