Abstract

The X-in-the-Loop development process plays a major role in today's development and commissioning of production systems in mechanical engineering. In the future, the importance of training and further education of technical specialists, e.g. for the operation of the systems, will continue to increase. For this purpose, virtual plant models created in engineering are only occasionally used in combination with modern visualization technologies. This is due not only to the great effort involved in creating them but also to the lack of consistency of the models. This article presents an approach for linking hardware-in-the-loop simulations with modern visualisation methods to a mixed-reality-in-the-loop simulation. The functionality of the concept is demonstrated on a selected production system.
