Abstract

Satisfaction of users and suppliers

It is difficult to define the quality of process control systems. Due to their economic importance and the short life cycles of the components, a definition based solely on experience is insufficient. It is thus necessary for vendors to provide information about quality features such as service life and failure probabilities of components. The Namur working group 2.11 has carried out a survey about the satisfaction with the current market situation and proposes a functionality-oriented product segmentation to fulfil a wide range of customer expectations. of Process Control Systems technology is difficult to define.
