Abstract

In an ideal plug-and-produce implementation, new components would be plugged in while operations were running, and integrated automatically on a functional level. We pursue this goal by modelling the skills provided by production resources. Production skills are defined on the basis of their relations to product, process, and resources. The resulting framework makes it possible to model generic skills to capture all possible use cases while providing the detailed information necessary to automate the production hardware.
