The exchange of simulation models between companies allows new products to be developed faster and more effectively. Depending on the simulation environment used, very different formats are exchanged. An established standard here is FMI (Functional Mockup Interface), which saves the models as so-called FMUs (Functional Mockup Units). In a series of expert interviews, the extent to which security is considered and evaluated in the use and exchange of simulation models was evaluated using the example of the use of FMUs. The various interest groups (creators/users) had to be taken into account. In particular, the feasibility of individual, not yet published approaches in the real environment was to be narrowed down and possible weaknesses and uncertainties eliminated.
