Case study on the use of MTP in large-scale chemical production

Module Type Package (MTP) has rarely been used in production in the large-scale chemical industry to date, but offers great potential for integrating package units into
process control systems. Using the example of an in-house developed burner unit, the article demonstrates that full software-based integration can be achieved in under 60
minutes and that MTP becomes financially viable from the second integration onwards. The article provides a clear overview of the effort involved, potential savings and the reduction in workload for repetitive integration tasks, and is aimed at unit manufacturers and plant owners/operators.
