Abstract

Building on Part 1 of this article (see atp magazin 9/2024), which introduced a specific object of analysis for modular plants to adapt established security concepts, this second part evaluates the suitability of various reference  architectures for modular automation. The goal is to develop a reference architecture into which the object of analysis is embedded, and which serves as the basis for a structured risk assessment in accordance with the VDI/VDE 2182 Part 1 process model.
