Abstract

In this article we address the integration of the power-to-gas process in an existing energy system. Within the framework of a simulation, we investigated how the dimensioning of the power-to-gas plant affects the resource utilization, capacity utilization, and economic viability. In order to achieve the most efficient use of the power-to-gas plant, both the available resources of electrical energy and CO2 and the operational goals must be taken into account in the sizing process.
