Abstract

Modelling and simulation are important tools in engineering. However, creating models requires expertise and time. Thus, it is desirable to reuse models. In distributed development processes, models also need to be interoperable. In the scientific community, the FAIR-principles are discussed as guiding principles to improve the transparency and reproducibility of scientific results.
In addition to interoperability and reusability, the principles also demand that data should be findable and accessible. This contribution applies the principles to models. Specifically, models in the form of functional mock-up units (FMUs), are amended by metadata and published using Semantic Web technologies.
