Abstract

In this article, a guideline for industrial AI development is applied to the realization of two concrete case studies from production. In the first case study, an AI application for optical quality monitoring of industrial components is developed using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN). In the second case study, an AI application for condition monitoring of an industrial production plant is realized using a Feed Forward Neural Network (FNN). For both case studies, the individual development and documentation steps of the guideline are run through. This article is intended to serve as a starting point for practitioners who
want to develop their own AI applications.
