Abstract

In the context of Industry 4.0, the concept of the Asset Administration Shell is considered one of the central results. This paper presents the Python SDK PyI40AAS developed by the Chair of Information and Automation Systems for Process and Material Technology after two years of work. It is a realization of the technology-neutral UML model for the representation of information
in the Asset Administration Shell published by the Platform Industry 4.0. In addition, some design decisions during the implementation are highlighted and recommendations are made for the further development of the metamodel.
