Asset Administration Shells out of Excel?

Automated creation of asset adiministration shells from inventory data from Excel spreadsheets

Abstract

In the context of Industry 4.0 and the associated digital transformation within the process chains, companies have to provide their information in the future standardized and interoperable with the help of asset administration shells. For this purpose, shells must be created and the already existing information inserted into them. In order to make this as simple as possible and also possible for small and medium-sized companies, this article presents an extension of the Editor for Asset Administration Shells AAS Manager, developed at RWTH Aachen University, that supports this transformation.
