Abstract

The transfer of batch recipes between different process control systems is predominantly performed manually today, leading to significant inefficiencies and error sources. This work analyzes the challenges of recipe transfer in process industries based on discussions of NAMUR Working Group AK2.3 and presents an innovative solution approach through the combination of the BatchML (Batch Markup Language) and MTP (Module Type Package) standards. The combination
of both standards resolves the central problem of plant-specific dependencies: MTP defines standardized services as interfaces to modules, while BatchML describes the procedural logic.
