Abstract

OPC UA is an information exchange standard for industrial automation provided by the OPC foundation. It is one of the most important enabling technologies in Industry 4.0. The realization of the various application specific OPC UA Companion Specifications leads to increased workload for system integrators. This paper provides a concept for a tool-based workflow that allows to handle OPC UA-related knowhow efficiently through the use of software. Thereby, system integrators are enabled to extend their portfolio by companion specification compliant plant configuration
